The Garden Beds

Our garden beds are made up of stacked rocks, all of which came from our yard.  I think rocks are our best crop!  They seem to keep growing no matter how many you dig out of the ground.  That being said, they make great raised beds, which are necessary for such rocky soil.  We've cleared a bit more space this year and expanded our growing area.  We are hoping to be able to grow a larger variety of vegetables.

Currently we have garlic, cauliflower, sugar snap peas, carrots, strawberries and spinach planted.
Our garlic chives, mint, and sage come back every year as well as our figs and raspberries.  It's nice to have some reliable plants that don't need coddled.

I'm excited for this year's growing season.

    1. Thanks Felicia! I hope all our efforts pay off. It's a lot of work, but better than sitting on our bums doing non-productive activities, I suppose. :)

  5. I love the rocky garden beds, such a great idea. I'm a lover of gardening, newly so. It is exciting when you plant things in and see them grow. I have two vege beds my newest one I spent time putting in compost and sheep manure. It has made a huge difference. The veg that I planted is twice the size of the plants that I put in at the same time in the older garden that doesn't have the compost and manure in it. Happy gardening xo
