The 7 Year Quilt
In 2009, Heidi introduced me to paper piecing. We both started on a quilt. I made my hexagons a lot larger than hers for faster results. Well, four years later and the quilt is still a work in progress. Not that I mind. It is something that I will work on for a few days, then fold up and put away for months. It's one of those slow projects that you can keep coming back to without much thought. We jokingly call them our 7 year quilts because that is the time frame they will most likely be completed.

Love the hexies! I have a similar project, with dinky hexies, so I imagine in seven years from now I'll have a dolly quilt...but it is a calming and satisfying project to work on now and again... Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see yours. There is something very soothing about hand sewing.
DeleteI had a 5 year quilt! It was fun to work on but so nice to finish. Good lcuk with yours!
ReplyDeleteMy parent's neighbor does quilting so once everything is hand sewn, I might have her do the actual quilting. She has a super expensive sewing machine (a few actually) and en entire sewing room, so I'm pretty sure she can help!

ReplyDeleteI always thought I would be a quilter but it isn't meant to be, not for a long time to come anyway. You will be very proud of your quilt when it is completed.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog last week. I hope you are having a wonderful day.
I'm not much of a sewer, but I do find this project to be relaxing.
DeleteOh my goodness! I love this! And I have so much scrap fabric! I would love to know how you started? Just cutting the hexagons? Glad you found me, lady! You have such a cute blog!
ReplyDeleteI will have to take some step by step pictures of the process and post them for you. (and thank you!)
