Strictly Business

When I have to travel for work, I do try to plan something interesting to do to make the trip worth while.  So, when I had a few meetings in MA I decided to visit a friend.  She took me to this amazing restaurant, Armsby Abbey.  We ordered a cheese slate with home made bread and the carrot/beet salad.

Beet & Carrot Salad: Roasted Red Beets & Bolero Carrots, Crystal Brook Farm Chevre,
Local Bitter Greens, Toasted Pistachios, Fennel Champagne Vinaigrette

We also ordered fancy drinks.  She ordered a Mystic and I had the Bee Hive.(The recipes for these are not online, sadly.  I wanted to replicate them.)

I also had a meeting in VT.  Rather than fly there, I decided to take the rental car on a four hour drive.  I thought I might be able to stop along the way, but with a late start and stormy weather that didn't happen.

Rachel was kind enough to pack me a Happy Travels snack bag full of treats to keep me going.  How very sweet!  She really is a thoughtful gal.

I took full advantage of XM radio.

I stayed at the Hilton in Burlington VT.  This was my view over Lake Champlain.
And of course, Room Service after such a long drive.
I had a lunch meeting at The Farm House.  I ordered the Grown Up Grilled Cheese. YUM! I am certainly going to make this at home.

Grown Up Grilled Cheese
North Country Smokehouse ham, sliced VT apple,
shaved red onion, Vermont artisan cheeses on
Red Hen bread; served with choice of side

I really LOVE Vermont.  I could easily live there.  I've been casually looking at real estate and hinting to move since my return.

40s on 4 is my all time favorite station to listen to!

I I think I took a picture of the drink menu so I could duplicate! I'll get back to you on that one!
