Ginger

Ginger is the pulverized dried root of Zanzibar Officinale, grown in Jamaica, China, and India. Commercially speaking, there are three grades, - Jamaica, the best and strongest; Cochin, and African. - The Boston Cooking-School Cook Book. 1926.
We aren't really soda drinkers around here, but find a good ginger brew and we are game.  These happen to be our current favorites.
