Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire

I don't believe I would ever want to live in a house without a wood stove or fireplace. We are lucky enough to have both! We have actually roasted chestnuts over the open fire, toasted marshmallows during movie night, and hung our stockings with care. There is nothing quite so lovely as a fire. Yes, it gets messy and dusty but that is all part of the charm, right?
